anal herpes or anal tear

heya, im relatively new to this platform and i really need some help. recently ive been finding it very painful to pass stool and afterwards, whenever i wipe there is usually blood on the toilet paper. this does not happen every time but has been happening a lot more recently. there is a visible tear around my anus that looks like a papercut of sorts.
the only reason i am worried that it is HSV-2 is because the tear and the area around it has become very itchy. there are no blisters or sores to been seen, it's purely just itchy, and i am very attentive to signs of HSV as it is a massive fear of mine. however, both myself and my partner have had a full screening recently and neither of us has ever displayed symptoms of HSV-1 or HSV-2, and have never been with people displaying these symptoms. i am aware you can shed the virus asymptomatically however we have both been very careful in the past and we are in a long term relationship, strictly monogamous.
im wondering if something as simple as dehydration is making my stools hard and that is what causes the tears? also for reference i take the combined pill and ferrous ferumate as a prescribed medication.

many thanks.

I think you should see a doctor.

Is the blood bright red? That usually signifies hemorrhoids, but rectal bleeding that recurs should always be checked out. Hemorrhoids can be very itchy.

It could be herpes. Even if you are very monogamous, either one of you can enter the relationship with a pre-existing herpes infection and not know it. Also, if your partner has oral hsv1, and gives you oral sex, you can get genital hsv1. Most people with oral hsv1 never have symptoms.

You should check your screenings to see if they included herpes. My guess is they don't if you did them at your doctor. Another issue is that the hsv1 IgG test misses a full 30% of infections, so even if your partner has it, the test may miss it.

So get checked out. If they even think it might be herpes, ask them to do a type specific culture on it.

Good luck!
