confused

hello

im a bit confused on the offset of timing and syptoms please help, i will try to just lay out a timeline so it will be as clear as possible

i had a vaginal delivery 2008-no stds

last sexual experience was in april 2009 (man has no syptoms)

july 2010 left side of labia becomes swollen-diagnosed a bartholins gland (by two doct) which formed ulceration from rupture, culture was taken from ulcer but was actually way passed 2-3 day mark (hsv i read up on) day after it healed, got a positive hsv 2 result three days later

aug 2010 bartholins happens again

went in and had blood work done, at this point i was going crazy. herpes select hsv2=positive H2.14

now i still to this day have pus coming out of vagina, have been tested for yeast and all other stds-negative for all

doctor is puzzled, exam showed no signs of blisters scars, scabs,(she thought highly unlickly to even have hsv)

on internal exams i have excrutiating pain on left side, i have internal leg burning and electric shock feelings all over body.  still no blister red streaks or anything external

i was told a bartholins cyst will give false positive culture test, true?

i was also told hsv2 2.14 is low positive, true?

so is this herpes???? can i have not been sexually active for two yrs and it comes out now, like this?

also odds are you were never tested for herpes when you were pregnant either.  You'll have to check to see if you actually had ever had herpes blood testing before all of this.

you can have reoccurring cyst issues and also have genital herpes. make sense?

You were sexually active in order to have a child.  Your partners could have transmitted the virus and this was the only time you realized symptoms.

Visual diagnoisis of herpes is often wrong 1/3 of the time.  Some times they appear to be something else.

You already have antibodies.  Thats why you have a positive test.

ji, thank you for replying

only three more questions, how did i get this if i have not been sexually active

and why do the doctors say its bartholins ulcer and not hsv,

how long will the antibodies take to develop

no the bartholin cyst will not cause a false positive culture test.  the cultures rely on active herpes virus being present in order to grow it out in the lab, there has to be a herpes infection there in order for that to occur.

You had a + hsv2 lesion culture in july 2010 correct?  if so, your low positive hsv2 igg isn't a false positive. you already know what you have and where you have it.

will hsv2 cause pain all the time and purulent discharge from your vagina frequently? no it will not. obviously something else, besides hsv2 is going on.

keep asking questions :)
