I have never had a cold sore. HSV1 RIsk

I have never had a cold sore.  So does this raise my risk of getting genital hsv1?

they'd show up anywhere from 2-20 days post encounter. obvious lesions and pain would be the 2 most likely symptoms.

Grace,

Thank you... What symptoms should I be looking for and generally how long do they take to appear?

I think unless you develop any genital symptoms, not to worry about this.

at some point get a herpes igg blood test to know your own status for future partners in case you have hsv1 or hsv2 and didn't know it.

I have never been tested.  Never needed to.  Until last night a girl when down on me for 1-2 seconds before I was able to pull her off and tell her no.  Doing some research on the board has made me worry about HSV 1 since I have never had a cold sore.  The girl didnt show any signs.  Just curious if it increases my risk. What do you guys think?

I'm curious as to why you're concerned with genital HSV 1, does your partner have a confirmed infection of this type?

a lack of symptoms doesn't mean a lack of infection.  have you ever been tested for herpes?
