no way to know if your hsv1 is only genital or if you also have it orally too unless you get an obvious cold sore. If you only have it genitally, kissing isn't a risk.
when is your partner going to get tested for herpes to know his status?
usually hsv1 isn't transmitted from genital sex - typically it's oral sex. since it doesn't reoccur often and doesn't shed much, we don't recommend daily suppressive therapy routinely for it either.
I will contact the rape crisis center, but what are they going to be doing with me? Can I transmit this through kissing? And in about 5-8 years I want to have a child. Will I give my partner herpes by having unprotected sex while taking the medicine??
I highly recommend seeking out your local rape crisis center too. they are trained to help you deal with all of this. Even though it's been a few months, it's still beneficial to contact them.
hsv1 genitally is the "milder" of the two herpes infections. Not milder as in less painful but milder as in reoccurs less often and sheds less often. It's not something you have to worry about transmitting to family members at all. As for your bf, he'll need to seek out his own herpes igg blood testing to see what his status is so that the two of you can make educated decisions about what precautions to take.
your full std testing needs to be done at the right times from the rape. You need tested for trich, gonorrhea, chlamydia any time after 1 week post encounter. syphilis after 6 weeks. hiv and hepatitis after 3 months. Some hiv tests are accurate at 1 month but you'll need to know exactly what testing for hiv you had done. we don't test for hpv - should you get obvious warts, be seen promptly for treatment.
No I wasn't refered to a rape crisis center
I had a very bad outbreak and she swob my lesion and all she told me was that I'm hsv1 positive and negative for hsv2 and I'm so confused I don't know nothing and I don't wont to pass this on to my bf or family members
so sorry to hear that you are going through all of this :( have you been referred to a rape crisis center yet?
what testing came back as hsv1+? was it a lesion culture of your genital symptoms or a blood test for herpes?
