The location of the blisters is consistent with oral herpes. If they are still there or if a similar problem reappears, see a doctor or clinic (preferably within 1-2 days) for examination and diagnosis.
You're reading biased and/or nonscientific websites. CMV definitely is not a known cause of IBS, or of colitis except in a few special situations -- mostly in the presence of advanced cancer, potent chemotherapy, etc.
In any case, your medical problems are much too complex for a nonprofessional community forum. Your own doctor(s) can answer these concerns much better than we can.
Hi HowardH,
Please refer my previous response for the blisters.
Also, I have Irritable Bowel Syndrome and recently had Sigmoidoscopy and the biopsy done. Biopsy result came as "Non Specific Colitis and Sigmoid Colon"
I have read in internet that CMV can cause IBS and can be identified by Biopsy. In my case I have IBS and getting recovered from it slowly. The Biopsy result does it seem the IBS is not due to CMV or clarify please. I am confused a lot and fearing of things with my CMV IgG positive result with my IBS. Please clarify..
Thanks.
For the question number 2 - the blisters appeared just between the lower lip and the chin.
1) Rubella and CVM: for sure not. HSV1 possibly, but not likely.
2) You don't give enough information to know the cause of the blisters. Where did they occur?
3) No.
Thanks a lot for the response. Please help by clarifying the following doubts too.
1) I have been having sex with my wife. Have I transferred them to my wife by this time? I think so. We already have a daughter. If so can we plan for kids further?
2) Also I have some blisters 2 years back. after that didnt have. Will they become intense and cause any serious damages in the future?
3) Can Kissing my child When I don't have any blisters or cold sores transfer these infections? not sure I have infected my kid. feeling guilty.. Please answer..
Thanks in advance..
"The Doctor said that I need not worry and have a normal life and normal sexual life." Exactly right. All your results are normal.
Rubella (German measles): Undoubtedly you had routine childhood vaccination. Rubella is the R in the standard vaccine MMR, for measles, mumps, and rubella. Your positive result is from getting the vaccine as a kid.
CMV: You carry this virus. So do 90-95% of healthy people. It's normal. No big deal.
HSV1: You are infected, probably in the mouth area. So are 50% of all people in the US. This also is normal. If you have cold sores or fever blisters, don't kiss or perform oral sex during those episodes. Otherwise forget about it.
The igm is not a good test the igg is. For herpes I cant rember why. Looks like you are positive for cold sores. Just like 60-70% of us population. Im not a dr but people on this form are very helpful and they will be able to help you. Give them time. And keep checking
