Herpes positive - someone please answer.

I tested positive for a herpes blood test IGG
My type one came back negative and type 2 came back positive at 8.95
I had unprotected sex with a partner 9 weeks prior to my blood test. Could a score of 8.95 be from this partner. Does 8.95 mean it’s high antibody detection and does 8.95 mean it’s been around a while or could it be from the 9 weeks previously
Does higher mean longer time infected. ? Please help

While it’s possible that this is from your partner 9 weeks ago, a score that high makes me think this is something you may have had longer.
HSV2 index values really don’t tell you when the infection originated. But the higher they go, the more likely it is an infection that has been around a while.

Thank you. Why would a score be so high? Is it just because the longer they have it the higher it is?

It’s eitger from 2 years ago sex partner
Or 9 weeks ago sex partner
No other encounters in between
Which one would you say? Thanks
Please help
I would guess it’s from the encounter two years ago.
People tends to read a lot into the numbers.  They don’t really mean much. They have nothing to do with how much a virus you have it in your system or how contagious you are, or anything like that. The numbers really don’t matter of the numbers mean are either your positive or negative. A lower positive score, say 1.5 at 9 weeks is more inline with how antibodies build.
While it is not impossible to have that score after 9 weeks, I just don’t think that is the case.
IgG index values can fluctuate a lot. It’s nothing to be worried about.
