Oral antibiotics for mild HS?

I'm worried my doctor is over-prescribing me Doxycycline for my newly diagnosed HS. He told me I just have a mild case, yet in addition to a clyndamicin lotion, he also prescribe me a 6-week course of Doxy, orally. This seems excessive to me for just a mild case with only one lesion that isn't bothering me too much, just stubborn and hasn't gone away yet. I'm worried about side-effects from taking the oral antibiotics, as I've had bad experiences in the past. Anyone experience this or have advice?
