Hey everyone , i have currently been diagnosed with high risk hpv. I was used to having unprotected sex with my bf. i asked my doctor if it was okay to continue and he said there was no problem because we share the same stains . Is this true?

Hi Jili169,
since you are under 30, if you have HR HPV, most HPV clear on their own in your age group. They don't even normally test for it at your age but you should continue your PAP's and pelvic exam on schedule. If you two are monogamous then I wouldn't worry. I think you meant to say same strains of HPV, well it is ok because of the reasons I mentioned, the doctor probably meant you won't give each other a new strain since you have the same one, does this make sense?
take care,
