HPV Questions

Hello,
I have a question is it possible to get HPV from your mom at birth? I did not know my mom and dad and just met with my mom for the first time and I asked her about her medical history. She told me she had breast cancer and cervix cancer. And cervix cancer was HPV removed after I was born. I am 29 now and all my paps have been normal. I also have a 2 year old child. My doctor told me that they don’t test for HPV until 30. That didn’t make me feel better. I was also molested for many years by a male family member.. and I am just wondering how long can this lay dormant!? And is it possible to get this from my mom or family member (male)?  I havent been tested for it yet but just preparing for the worst. I have faith and want to be positive.. feedback would be great.. my doc said not to retest for 3 years but since I wasn’t tested for HPV I am not comfortable with waiting.

Sorry you had to wait. I can't answer for sure, but I'm under the impression the chances are very remote. I'm willing to wager that you're fine and what you're doing is catastrophizing because you're stressed about something in your life. I'm going to say your brain seized on this idea and ran with it. If you're able to get tested, just do it for your peace of mind so you can relax.
