This approach can be problematic if the doctor or dermatologist or sexual health professional doesn't really know all that much or hasn't seen a lot of it or for whatever reason. Therefore, in my opinion and experience, I wouldn't be at all surprised that you were misdiagnosed.
Yes, it is also possible that the biopsy that showed no HPV just happened to be from a growth that wasn't HPV and you did indeed have HPV in your other girls that you had removed but not biopsied. However, the only way you can move forward with that is to biopsy any new growth that appears and hope the outcome is the same as the last. I'm going to personally lean towards the hope that you were misdiagnosed and every growth you ever had was this other thing.
