HPV Treatment

Today I had my first HPV treatment using liquid nitrogen.  I was diagnosed with genital warts due to HPV about a week ago, and I never had any symptoms such as burning or itching.  I have these warts near my anal region, not inside my vagina or labia.

Today, after the treatment (almost 12 hours), it was slightly itchy.  I went to go check and they seemed to be reddish- not the whitish colour they were this morning.  Is the itchiness and change of colour an indicator that the treatment is working and they are starting to heal?  (I really hope so...)

I think she meant it was 12 hours after receiving treatment.

But yes what you are experiencing is normal. I've had 2 treatments with liquid nitrogen and experienced the same thing as you. Wart changed color and then became flaky and fell off. I needed to have some warts treated twice which can be frustrating. It was successful second time around.

The good thing is you are getting them treated! You are doing the best you can you just need to be patient :-)

Good luck!!

Good luck!!

12 hours seems like a very long time to be having this treatment? But anyway, yes the warts will change colour, red, black i think then go on to flake and eventually it will come off.

Be sure to only wash with water around that area and not with soap in that area for the time being as it may irritate it.
