HPV or skin tag?
I had mirena iud placed in september. Since placement I have had spotting daily.
I was wearing panty liners all day every day. I nicked my self shaving on the labia near vaginal opening.
I continued to wear liners. Now I have a raised lesion in the exact location of my cut. It
Is raised and flesh colored. No discomfort at all. Doesn't appear to be increasing in size or number.
It seems to have appeared basically in a few days. I had a normal pap smear and gyn visit in August.
Any thoughts on what it may be? I'm worried. I have an appointment next week with GYN.

It can be a skin tag, cyst or a genital wart. Other possibilities are a benign skin growth or a scar tissue.
Diagnosis of genital warts is usually clinical, made by visual inspection. Genital warts can be confirmed by biopsy but Sometimes we can use an enhancing technique called acetowhitening. This technique involves the application of 5% acetic acid solution to the area of suspicion for about 5-10 minutes. Infected areas will turn white.

You should be getting it looked at by the dermatologist, they are the experts in the field and can diagnose you visually, if however they are unsure they can do a biopsy and you'll know for sure then
