I have noticed over about the past six months that I have some fleshy bumps of varying size on my labia. The first month that I noticed them I had some itching and irritation, but nothing major. Since the first month that I noticed them, I have had no pain, irritation, or itching. The bumps are not hard, they are skin color I have not had any kind of emission from them. I do have HPV, and was very worried that these could be warts brought on by HPV. I have been to two different doctors a total of three times about the bumps. On my first visit with the first doctor I was told that they were probably sebaceous cysts and that they would go away. When they didn't go away I saw my gynocologist who told me that they didn't appear to be warts at all, but scar tissue or irritation from shaving or other activities. On my latest visit with my doctor, she again assured me that they did not look like warts, but now she wants to biopsy them "to be safe" because she says that normaly "pigmination" like what I have goes away after while, and since mine hasn't she wants to find out what it is. She said it does not look like anything to worry about, that it is probably some dermatological or bacterial issue, but I am very worried about it despite her reassurances. I am not seeking an online diagnosis, as I understand that obviously if my doctor needs to see this under a microscope no one will be able to tell me what this is without looking at it. What I would like to know is what this could be? If it's not caused by my HPV (which my doctor seems to think that it highly unlikely that it is) then what COULD be causing this? My major concern right now is vulvar cancer (although I understand that this type of cancer typically effects older women, and since I'm in my mid twenties, I don't know how likely it is that I could be effected by it) or any other type of long term cancer that could result in death. Again, just some ideas on what this could be best or worst case senario would help to ease my mind until the biopsy results are in.
