HPV

I am a gay male and over the weekend had anal intercourse with another guy that, after the fact, found out he may have HPV. Prior to finding this out, right after intercourse I had went and taken a shower with soap and hot water and washed thoroughly because there were feces on my penis. Will this reduce/prevent me of have contracting HPV from him? I do plan on getting tested or treated as soon as possible, I just want to reduce my anxiety for now.

This will not reduce or prevent getting the virus unfortunately. You should look into the blood test. I have only recently heard of it as it is relatively new and bare in mind research tells me it is sometimes inaccurate, worth a try though.

The thing that really ***** about HPV is the only tests for it is a PAP Smear or an Anal Pap Smear. There are no penile test yet, but had the thought of a urethra swab for men. Do you think that could be a possibility for a test in the future?

Get your tests done ASAP, just for your own self aesteem try and reframe from any sexual contact till you know you are clear, that way you know that you will not be passing it on.
Good Luck
