Back in 2006 I was diagnosis with HPV. Which they did a biopsy and then decide just to monitor my pap smears every 6 months. never had any genitals warts. I'm concern about one thing I got pregnant and don't know if I had it or had clear it . If I did have it through my pregnancy and while giving birth could I have pass it on to my son. His is almost 5 yrs old???

So in 2/2009 I had my first normal pap and had normal pap smears since. but I just got a recent pap smear and my result came back abnormal with low grade. Their doing a biopsy which I'm not to nervous but I'm confuse. The doctor states and can be the same strain or maybe a new one. I have a feeling that it the same one and it return. Can this be possible? If so I know I been under extremely alot of stress and that might be the reason why it return.

My next questions is if I boost my immune system and I clear and then future pap smear are normal I am still contagious and can I still pass it on to future partner I may have.

Any advice on getting rid of hpv faster and having my paps smears normal again.

Hello,
If you had genital warts during pregnancy then chances of transmission to the child are there. If the PAP smear has shown high risk HPV, then you need to get a colposcopy and biopsy done. Usually if the biopsy report comes normal, we do smears at regular intervals. If PAP smears come out abnormal then LEEP is done.

Scientists now think that the HPV infection that clears up on its own remains dormant in your body.  it can stay dormant or it can come back again. Hence transmission can occur even if you are not showing any symptoms.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
