HVP Genital hand to my Genital

I was recently with a girl where we did not have sex but did hand things.. This consisted of my touching and fingering her and immediately touching myself. No sex no direct contact with our genital region. The only time was when she had my boxers on while we were on top of each other making out..

We were touching each other and it was not till the end where i noticed warts on her. Later from her it was HVP. she told me not to worry that is why she was wearing my boxers and we did not have direct contact..  Only when i touched her vagina then touched my penis (stroking) immediately after.

My questions are:

1. What is the risk that I have it since it could have traveled onto my hand and to my penis from my hand.
2. I within 20 min took a shower and cleaned myself thoroughly with oil removing soap. Would this help my case.
3. if i could have it when would i show symptoms of warts and how long will i have them..
4. how long will i be contagious.

Please let me know, i am losing my mind

hand to genital contact is not considered a real risk for any std. we don't recommend any testing or any exams. plenty of prior posts on the std experts forum on this if you want to take the time to search through them to read.

have you had your gardasil shots for hpv yet while hpv is on your mind?

also fyi - washing up after sexual contact doesn't reduce your std risk. std's are transmitted during the sex act itself - they don't lay around on the skin to work their into the body over time.

I meant to say "low" before the word risk. It is low risk, but not zero.

Your hand to genital contact to yourself right after you fingered her was a risk to getting HPV. Warts may appear in 2-6 months after that contact. She should not have allowed you to do that with warts present. Some get them years later and some never get them at all but are still infected. Should you get warts, have them removed asap and then wait 6-24 months to not being infectious before having sex again. Most doctors believe the virus remains in your body forever but that doesn't mean you are infectious forever. 90% of the infected clear the virus in 2 years or less. There is no test for men (other than wart biopsy), so you will never know if you have it.
