Is it HVP ?

My partner was just diagnosed yesterday with HVP and has 3 leisons on the shaft of his penis.  We've been together for 3 years, throughout which we've had unprotected sex because we'd both been very careful with partners in the past (I'd had unprotected sex with only one partner after he had tests done; and my current partner had had unprotected sex 3 times with one ex girlfriend and had no symptoms). But even although we've been very safe it seems that one of us has been unlucky enough and managed to catch it in the past, perhaps through oral sex, who knows? The strange thing is that we've had no symptoms until a couple of days ago.

Now I'm really concerned that I could have it too -
So my question is: what are the chances I have it if we were symptomless until a few days ago (since then we've not had sex)?

I have no symptoms myself but I'm paranoid now that every little blocked pore might be HPV. I feel really uneasy knowing I could have HPV without being aware of it.  I'm planning on seeing the doctor but I don't seem to have any symptoms, so they won't know for sure, will they?

I've been reading on this forum that after treatment my partner should be  no longer infectious. How can we be certain of this?

We were planning on trying for a baby in the next year or so and now I'm worried about having unprotected sex to concieve, but getting infected with HPV (if I don't already have it) and/or having problems from it during pregnancy. Any advice about this?

I'd really appreciate any advice you could give us, thank you so much.

Hi Again,

Read my other comment to your other posting.

But, you're right, the immune system can suppress the virus so that it's no longer contagious. But, there's no telling when. You can still have normal babies, so don't worry about that. HPV is very unavoidable and is now just a 'fact of life'.
