Question about clearance

I was diagnosed CIN 1 two years ago by colposcopy, with normal pap smears. No warts.
After expectant management (every 6 months for 2 years), my gynecologist told me today that my dysplasia regressed by itself and my cervix is completely normal. Now I should get tested every year.
My question is: Have I cleared the virus? Im I still contagious? Could it recur?

That's right, you two share the same strains and no you can't bounce them between you. :)

Thank you for your prompt answer Mags! :D
I've been in a monogamous relationship for 5 years now, so I guess I can't get infected again by my partner, as we both share the same type of virus. Or at least that's what I've been told.

Congrats! Your immune system has cleared the virus and you are no longer contagious. It is not common to have flare ups but it can happen. One factor for this can be a new infection rather than an flare up. So remember that condoms are 90% effective but better than nothing and they help to protect against other STD's. It is best to put any worries aside. Simply get your medical and dental exams on time every year.
