Warts removal/post surgery

hi there
thanks in adance for any advice
i have had anal warts since about a month ago, and i got them removed surgically.
i am worry to develop warts on penis, though my doctor told me the warts are there where are most of the time.
should i be careful not to touch my penis if i have touched my anus? should i be careful while showering? is the virus killed by soap? sorry for so much questions, i just dont find these answers anywhere on the web.
also, after the surgery, i have had a swelling pending on my anus, that seems to recess, even though it is still visible , about a quarter inch out of my anus, ...is this going to stay there, or it will go away within time.
thanks for understanding how frustrating all this is at 28 yo.

If you have the virus, the warts can pop up anywhere in the genital region: anal area, penis, and vaginal area. The virus does not stay in one area of your body, it's a matter when your immune system is down enough for the virus to manifest symptoms.  I wouldn't worry about it too much, if you do get them in other areas, just have them removed. I hope this helps

Hi,

I hae anal warts at the moment myself. I make every single effort ot stay away from my penis after doing treatment on the anal area. When putting cream on etc, I was my hands thoroughly afterwards. Similarly when going to the bathroom, always wash them thoroughly. When showering, I guess it makes sense to leave the anal area until the end so you're not touching yourself in other places after washing there.

Sorry, I can't ansswer your swelling question as I am unsure.. ask your medical provider.

I actually have a question for you about your surgery - did you ask for it? If so, was it at an STI clinic or a GP? Thinking of getting the same procedure done as cryo hasn't really helped and aldara seems to be making them smaller but really don't have patience for it to be honest.

Thanks and good luck
