HPV, dysplasia, leep, and pregnancy

I have question about hpv, dysplasia, warts, and pregnancy....If anyone can help I'd greatly appreciate it.  I was diagnosed with hpv in december last year.  I had a abnormal pap after being diagnosed, had sever dysplasia, and had to get a leep done in january of this year.  I had the acid treatment on them before surgery for the leep and he lazered the present ones left during the leep.  The warts came back..I had acid done again...the warts are back in full force and I also found out i'm pregnant.  I'm wondering if pregnancy affects hvp..I wonder if because the warts keep coming back and I heard pregnancy accelorates hvp if I will end up with another bad pap.  I'm wondering how this pregnancy will go having hpv and after just having a leep done in january.  I wonder will the darn warts ever go away?  i know i have a weakened immune system in general because I have gastroparesis and have had kidney cancer...will i be ok? will the baby be ok? and will the warts ever go away??  Please help...i'm terribly sad.

I agree, don't be sad...celebrate the new little life you have inside you!

Given all the phsycial issues you have had I understand fears. Try to let the past issues not be a part of your thinking now. Often once the body deals with HPV cell issues they don't return. Pregnancy can bring on a flare up but I think this might be more with warts. That may be exactly why yours came back so strong. Once you give birth and your body goes back to normal you should see a decline in warts again. Basically your immune system is supressed just to allow the pregnancy and your hormones are out of wack. That also leads to the mood swings and being sad. There are many options for treatments with any HPV issues so try to allow yourself to only focus on the good of your life and future!

Don't be sad! I'm in your boat, only I never had gential warts from HPV...they only flared up when I got pregnant. I'm hearing more and more how common this is. You can get trichloric acid treatments when pregnant and this poses no threat to baby :) Also, my doc said that he has never seen a baby affected by HPV. Worst case-is that you will have to deliver via C-section, but he said this is rare as well. It stinks that Pregnancy can accelerate HPV and genital warts, but the biggest thing you can do is to communicate with your doctors about every concern you may have. Eat healthy, don't smoke, take your pre-natals, and you should be fine! Hang in there, girl! And best wishes to you and baby!
