Because when a woman has 2 years of normal paps, the odds of tranmission are very very low. Not zero but not guranteed too. 90% of all people clear (make it dormant) the virus after 2 years. Based on her 2 years of normal paps, she is in this 90%. When it is dormant, it is almost impossible to infect anyone. Her immune system must have successfully fought it. I would not worry if I was you.
Ty for the reply. I am optimistic i didnt wreck my life and can move past this serious lack of judgement without any more then my own mental wounds.
The docs reply seems like an catch all reply. Why do u say it is not as great of chance that i contracted the disease as the doc said? Just wondering.
did you cover your std testing bases for all other stds since you had unprotected sex with another partner?

High risk HPV does not result in warts. You may never know if you have it or not since men cannot be tested for it. The odds are not as great as the doctor says they are. That your friend had clear paps for the past two years is a good indication that she probably was not infectious when you had sex with her. All you can do is make sure your wife gets pap tested yearly, for her health sake. And then pray that she never gets a positive result.
Hello,
HPV is one of the most common sexually transmitted diseases. It can be due to having sex with multiple partners or with infected persons. HPV is transmitted through skin-to-skin contact, usually during sexual intercourse. It can also be transmitted through oral sex. Sometimes there are no symptoms at all of the infection and you cannot know until you do tests to diagnose it. Hence you should get investigated for it if you have visible warts.
It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
