hey baby doll.
how is high risk different?
i mean every one says immune sustem got it under control, etc
im on my way to the doctors in 30 mins i'm nervous , i mean mine is symptomless and it i just have abnormal cells well i'll find out soon what it is.
well i'll talk to you soon hunni. :D
thank you
I'm sorry, I gave wrong information earlier. Genital HPV can clear up and the body's immune system will usually clear the infection within 1 to 2 years. I don't have that kind, mine is high risk (cancer) so therefore mine will not clear and will never go away =(
Thank you
this was very helpful, i'm going to the doctors tomorrow so we'll see get this thing cleared up.
thank you once again
hi
what i meant by 10 day, i want it gone fast and now-
what do you mean sperm doesn't go thru what?
You would have to lose the condom to have kids; sperm certainly does not go through them. I am not sure what you mean when you say you want a 10 day treatment...
I got it a while ago, possible I have cleared it by now though.
My Best,
Rainn
thank you.
i was just thinking in order to have kids we would need to loose the condom and that means infecting him. i'm going to the doctors on the 20th i hope they confused it with a UTI i had. this is so new and i want like a 10 day treatment, but not with this. do you have this as well?
The term "clear" is very ambiguous. Most virologists believe that once you have the virus, it will remain with you indefinitely. However, after a period of 1-2 years people can "clear" it, wherein even our most sophisticated tests cannot detect it. At this point in time, most doctors would consider you clear of the virus, and you are not contagious. Most likely you will never have any problems after this point. Please don't throw around words like "terrified", it's unnecessary to do such with a rather trivial virus.
My Best,
Rainn
HPV is not curable and it does not go away, once you have it, you have it. It does lay dormant though and if it is lying dormant, it will not show up on your paps.
you know when people say your body will -clear - the virus, meanign it will leave your system forever or jsut people who have warts, explanation, like warts will be gone but virus still in your blood? is it at all curable or you can just tone it down and hide it somewhere?
and we always had protected sex but a condom split twice pulled it out right away? i'm terrified because of those condom breakages he contracted it.
thank you
*will NOT pose any trouble.
Women can be tested for the virus without any warts/symptons, but men cannot be. The reason for this is doctors will not do blind biopsies on penises. If warts are present on men, they can be cut out and sent to a lab for testing.
Your current bf/fiance most likely has it by now if you have been having unprotected sex with him. However, if he loves you enough to marry you, I am sure this mild inconvenience will pose any trouble.
My Best,
Rainn
sorry i meant to say HPV not hiv / and i nevr had any outbreaks or warts.
ok,
so i can't test my bf unless i have the worst oh HIV that causes warts? i got tested and i don't have any warts. this is very confusing. i contracted HIV in feb 2009 that's when i first started having unprotected sex with my ex, we dated for 7 months and after a break up in 2010 i was told that he is ill so i tested, so i believe i have it for a year and my immune system didn't do anything about it yet.
i'm so scared i have to tell all this to my current bf (fiance)
As the other poster mentioned, Dr. Handsfield and Dr. Hook do not reply to posts on this section of the website.
Your question depends on whether or not you had an outbreak at the time, and if not, when the last wart you had was. If you have the type that does not cause warts, he can have it and there is no way to test him for it. He can only be diagnosed with hpv if it causes warts.
HPV is not curable, but the body's immune system seems to gain master over the virus and clear it from the system anywhere from 6 months to 2 years.
My Best,
Rainn
Hello Dr Handsfield
sorry to have confused you.
but i contracted hpv with my first bf.
now i had sexual intercourse with my new bf and the condom ripped what are the chances he contracted it from me? and is hpv curable? i have a doctors app on the 20th of April to see what exactly it is.
thank you

My understanding is that HPV is highly contagious, and your boyfriend may be at risk of contracting it with a broken condom. However, he may have had the virus before this exposure as condom protected sex is not a perfect way of preventing HPV (it can spread to areas of the skin not covered) and HPV is extremely common (90% of us will get one strain in our lifetime). In fact, it is possible that he is the source of your infection (though you can never determine the source, and it isn't really worth trying).
Fortunately, HPV infections rarely cause problems for men. Most men with HPV clear the virus within a few months to years without ever having symptoms. If he has a wart causing strain and notices warts, he should have them treated. Otherwise, he shouldn't be concerned.
