question - infection

Hello,
If youve read my posts, you'll know that Ive had gentital warts diagnosed two months ago and was told they were completly gone 2 weeks ago after 3 treatments. I know that couples can "share " this infection. How likely is it that I could have suppressed this infection for 10+ years, after getting it from a man other than my husband (been with my husband that long no warts until recently, 2 sexual partners before him) and now infected my husband???
