Condom Use

If I have protected sex, will I only get the warts on the area that isn't covered by the condom, or can it be anywhere in the genital area, like the head of the penis for example?

Thanks.

on average, how long can it take for genital warts to appear?

it sort of makes sense. but there is no way i can get a wart on the head of my penis if i'm wearing a condom, unless i contract it on my testicles, and then from there it moves to top of the penis through another form of contact (for example my hands)

is that an accurate summary?

HPV is a contact virus - it can be transmitted even with the use of condoms (they are only 70% effective). It is transmitted through skin to skin contact.
Here is a scenario - you have protected sex but but condoms do not protect all areas of the genitals. HPV can be in the skin of the testicles, the vulva/vagina/cervix of a woman, if any part of the penis comes in contact with skin that has HPV and is not protected from it then you can contract HPV. IE, if you have HPV on your scrotum and your penis comes in contact with it there - then the shaft or head of the penis can also have HPV.
Does that make sense? I don't know if I explained it very well.
