Also, cold sores are not considered STDs since even kids get cold sores from granny kisses for example. That is "the chant." but when you stop to think about it, you wonder when in American culture it became custom for adults to kiss children on the lips? My mom kissed me on the forehead or cheek when I was a kid. If my face was dirty she occasionally would moisten a tissue with her mouth and use the tissue to clean my cheeks. I guess her mom did the same. It just was not in my family culture to kiss a child on the lips. I recently had a complete suite of STD blood tests and all came back negative. No HSV-1 or HSV-2 either. Never had a cold sore but wanted to be sure. Cold sores are preventable and very darn well worth preventing, since at the least, they are aggravating, and at most are a big culprit in developing alzheimer's disease later in life. Jo is correct. Canker sores are not cold sores and are not herpes. I get canker sores every now and then. You can get them if you mistakingly bite down on the skin of the interior of your cheek. You could also get them from something you eat.

if its inside your mouth it is a canker sore which is no an std and just somthing people get...if it is a sore outside on your mouth it is a cold sore which you did get from kissing and is herpes virus 1 (a lot of people have this). Syphillis is only caught by having sex and is primarily in african american people. your whole body would be itching so much that you would want to cut your finger nails off! ....i think your ok
