you not only NEED to get another PAP/HPV test..but maybe a new doc too if they won't perform an exam w/ a kid in the room..I had my annual exam in Sept w/ my 2 and 4 1/2yr old in the room and my doc/and me had them stay at my shoulders and even gave them a "job" of holding my hands..gyn espec should understand that sometimes you just can't leave them w/ someone else..espec. if it's about your health..
you need to get a pap smear done once a year... and with severe dysplasia you need to be getting paps every3- 6 months..... HPV can lay dormant in your system for a long time b4 showing its face on any pap smear..... you body could have "cleared" the infection and when you get a pap it could be normal again, but you NEED to go get another pap smear. its been 3 years and there is no tellign what those cells have turned into
Most HPV infections are temporary. We would expect most paps to return to normal within 6-24 month. It is still a good idea to get regular paps.
