8 days post op

I am 8 days post op, I have had hot flashes now for 5 days and it's all day long,. Have to sit in front of fan all day and sleep with it all night, is this normal? A friend told me it was the pain meds causing this.. I disagree since I am still having them and haven't taken anythign for pain in a cpl days. I had everything removed besides the cervix. I am not feeling so much discomfort anymore around the incision sight. I also had to have my bladder tied up, they didn't use a sling but used extra fatty tissue, they kept a cath in me for 3 days, after I had gotten home I couldn't feel myself urninating I let it just tflow till I couldn't hear it anymore, now I am having alot of discomfort and it hurts to go. Did anyone else have this problem post op ? Any input would be appreciated.

I am so sorry to hear you ended up in the ER. But, very glad to hear you took matters in to your own hands and went. Are you feeling better now? Please keep me up to date on what your Dr says.

I ended up going to the ER.. I was in so much pain and was experiencing chills and dripping with sweat,  found out I had cellutitis. Thank goodness I went before it hit my bloodstream. I will be seeing my doc in 2 days will talk to her about hormones. My bladder is not empting fully as well. I hope to be back on the road for a full recovery soon.

You may have a urinary tract infection. See your Dr to find out if you do. What your having are hot flashes because your no longer producing hormones. If you did not have a hysterectomy because of cancer you should be able to get started on hormones right away. That should stop the hot flashes.
