left in non-dissolvable stitches

My wife had to have a Hickman line inserted after surgery, she`s had a lot of discomfort since the stitches were removed, the area gets red and inflamed, its also uncomfortable when washing, clothing also rubs against the nylon stitch, she's been told on numerous visit`s to our G.P that its adhesions down to a hair follicle.
We finally got the stitch out using a magnifying glass and tweezers, is the practice liable ?
P.S,the stitch was in for 7yrs 4mths

It certainly sounds like the practice was negligent but, in my opinion, it would be next to impossible to receive any compensation.

somebody should be answerable (is this a word),compo would be a bonus but if u think its pointless we wont bother !!!!! 7yrs is a long time ?
It can't hurt to get a few opinions from some medical malpractice attorneys. But they typically only take the worst cases of harm such as death or severe disability. At least that's what many harmed patients have discovered.

Not sure I understand. Are you saying she had the hysterectomy 7 years 4 months ago and the stitch was in all that time and just recently removed?
