why the blood?

I'm a 58 yr old woman who has had a total hysterectomy 25 yrs ago, my husband & I have made love on 2 seperate occasions & I have bled  from the urethra the toilet water is bright red, no bleeding during the act just after why?

I do use a lubricant & it does the job quite well. I did call my Dr. got into see him it is a UTI, so we talked about it further, thanks for the info. This is pretty bad & yes it is fresh blood from the urethra got a scrip hope that does the trick cuz peeing in a tub with water is not  something to look forward to. THANKS AGAIN!!

hi why do you think the bleeding is from urethra? Im thinking its from the vagina...common as we age especailly post hyster to have vaginal dryness, causes small tears from sex, try using a lubrication next time. If your certain the blood is from urthrea please see your dr right away, could be a bladder problem that only shows symptoms from pressure of intercourse. Bright red blood is fresh new blood, this makes me think its vaginal and from lack of lubrication.
