Rape can effect everybody in different ways. My husband and his brother were molested as children and my husband went to one extreme and slept with very few women and didnt date very much. Where as my brother-in-law, is promiscious. You can make your situation take you down, or you can rise above it and not let it define who you are.
Rape is a traumatic experience and everyone deals with trauma differently. Some women I have known have gone around sleeping with people after being raped. One because, "I'm a **** anyways right, it's all I'm good for." Another because (I believe) she desperately wanted to be loved and to feel loved but believed love and sex were the same thing. However not all women act in that manner. If you or someone you know has been raped I strongly suggest counseling. Asking for help is not failing at life, it's just admiting that you -like everyone else- cannot do it all alone.
