What's my tetanus risk?

About 12 days ago, I cut my ankle on a metal door (it swung shut and caught my ankle). The door was an outside door, but it was not rusty. It was a deep cut, it bled a lot, and I ended up getting 5 stitches - the doctor asked me if I had had a tetanus shot in the last 10 years - I said yes. Turns out it had been 11. Should I be okay? It's making me REALLY nervous, and I plan to get a shot this coming week. I'm just super nervous - Any little twitch in my muscles makes me freak out - I feel like my muscles are stiff, but it's probably because I'm so tense!! Yes I'm a hypochondriac - lol. Everyone tells me I'm being silly, but I'm still nervous! Will 11 years still cover me?!

If you haven't had one in 10 years, it's not a bad idea to get another one.  I cut myself as well a while back and ended up getting one the same day.  I don't blame you for being nervous about it, but if you didn't get lock jaw by now I would think you would be OK.  Seeing since the doctor who gave you your stitches didn't give you a tetanus shot right then, it probably wasn't too serious.
