3 year old with high blood pressure and possible hole in the heart

My son Jacob just turned 3 in July.  Four weeks ago he had surgery to remove his tonsils and adenoids.  Two weeks before that surgery he needed a physical from our family doctor.  At this time the doctor found an abnormal murmur.  From there the next day we saw a Pediatrician.  We were told she strongly thinks he has a hole in his heart (VSD).  He also has high blood pressure, it was 120/80 in the doctors office and she asked that during the surgery he have it check while asleep and it went as high as 160/100.
Jacob had a ECG and an ECHO yesterday.  We wont get the results for 3-4 weeks and we are now on a wait list that is 9-12 months long to see a Pediatric Cardiologist.
Do you have any advise?

I am in Canada, so I pretty much have to wait on a waiting list.  We are on a wait list for a Peds. Cardiologist but I didn't know if in the meantime I should be doing anything else.  Should I be doing anything for his blood pressure?

Your son needs to see a Peds. Cardiologist. I would see if there is another one in your area  or complain to your insurance company about the wait. Often there are stipulations in contracts about patient wait times til appointments..
