deconditioning?

I was wondering if this is just a sign of deconditioning.   I have been having a heavy chest feeling, palpitations that are made worse by intense exercise  (during and especially after).........During my stress test I could not go longer than 9 minutes and they told me my target heart rate was 171 as I am 30 years old, but I watched the monitor and i saw it eratically jumping as high as 220 and then falling back (bad reading? i dont know),    anyway I fizzled out after only 9 minutes and  thought i didn't have any palpitations that time,  the doctor told me i was just out of shape and not to worry about the palpitations or anything else,  just to exercise and lose weight  (im 30 yrs old, 60 lbs over weight).      I hav been avaoiding exercise due to my palpitations,   but none got picked up,  though he just said not to worry about them.    Is this likely just deconditioning?

Deconditioning can give you shortness of air with exertion and weakness but not chest pain or palpitations.  An event monitor might pick up if you are having an arrhythmia.
