My mother has CLL, and is a breast cancer survivor. We went through a phase where they told her she ALSO has multiple myeloma, now they are saying it's just osteoporosis...
That said, I understand on a different level. It has to be much more difficult when it's your CHILD and you have to watch them go through this. My heart goes out to you.
Anything is possible when looking at the chance of reoccurrence. Have his doctors given any indication about how his particular treatment effects his chances of recovery? I'm learning they have made great strides in the treatments for leukemia that help make the outcome more favorable. I'm sure his doctors will continue to monitor his progress, even after treatment.
While I would love to promise you there is nothing to worry about, I know that is unrealistic. All I can do is offer to be an ear so you can express your worries, share your success, and scream at the world if needed.
Keeping you and your family in my thoughts.
His dr`s are very hopefull, that he will not have a reoccurrence..He has a 80% chance that it will never come back in his lifetime..20% chance it will in the next3yrs, If you think about it those are pretty good odds,Thay also say if it is not back in 3yrs his chanses it wont go up to 95%..
