My sonogram showed two lesions on my liver. What is it? Should I be worried?

I've had some abdominal pains for over 6 months with mild nausea every now and again.  My abdominal pains are mild.... more like discomfort.  They happen in a number of places, but the most common places are right underneath my right rib cage a couple inches above my belly button and over to the right.  Less common is under my left rib cage area around the same elevation.  I had a sonogram and I've gotten the results, but I haven't spoken with my doctor about it yet.  The results reads as follows....

"There is a 2.2 x 2.1 x 2.7 cm echogenic lesion in the right lobe of liver. There is an 8 x 8 x 8 mm echogenic lesion in the left lobe of liver. These may represent hemangiomas. MRI of the liver with contrast is recommended to further characterize."

I am now freaking out of course.  I get that they state that they may be hemangiomas because those are very common.  I wish I could put it out of my mind until I speak to the doctor and get the MRI, but I know I can't.

I am 42 years old and have been a smoker for a long time.  I've also been known to drink a lot.  Not all the time, but enough.

Does anyone have any thoughts? (other than I need to quit smoking stat... which I am)  I'm so nervous I could puke right now.  Anyways... thanks in advance
