enlarged live in toddler
i have a 3yr old son that has been having stomache problems since birth. just recently gone to a specialist for contipation and was just told that he has an enlarged liver. he drinks non stop and barely eats anymore. use to eat all kinds of fruits and veggies but doesnt want much of anything anymore. all he wants is liquids and he is limited to how much he can have by doctors orders. anyone have any information or ideas of what i can try please let me know. thank you

i would suggest seeing dr ben schneider at university of pittsburgh.
we live in bremen indiana he has been seeing a rileys childrens doctor but im not getting to much information from him he is waiting on the ultrasound reports before he tells me more is what his nurse said. i just want to know what i can feed him or what i have to do to help him get better til they find out what is wrong.

he should definitely be seen by a pediatric liver specialist. where do you live?
+its pretty scarey findign out that its enlarged. we have been doing this since birth also. he did the refex tests and alll the xrays and this scoope they say is the last test i hope to find something out soon. i will let you know what we find out. good luck to you also.
my son is going to be 2 on august 14th. i just went to the pediatrician today with concerns about him not eating,wanting to drink all the time,he's been like this since birth.he had bad acid reflux for about a year.his abdomen is also huge. i thought maybe it was a normal toddler belly,but it is harder than normal,i compared it to his 2 older brothers.the dr. told me his liver is enlarged.i'm still shocked i was expecting him to say i was crazy.but now we go tomorrow for blood work and an ultra sound.i'm worried sick.please let me know what happens with your son.

they will need to do special blood and urine tests and depending on the results might need to do a biopsy.
thank you they said he has an enlarged liver from inside so we do more tests on august 7th. i just wish i knew what that means?
