IVIg therapy after liver transplantation

Hello D-r Thomas D Schiano!
I have a question for You and the members,reading the topic!We have a transplanted patient in our unit,50-th day after the liver transplantation,taking Prograf!For the last few weeks he had some recurrent liver infection manifested with tempreture(maximum 38.5)...the patient is on combined antibiotic therapy but no results!We are thinking about to include human intravenous immuneglobulines to stimulate the immune system in fighting the bacterial infection!How do You think about the idea...and is this adequate therapy!I really appreciate your oppinion and i am waiting for your answear!

IVIG may potentially affect the immune system so this is not something we typically do.  When a patient is infected we often minimize as much as possible the immunosuppression, especially if its a severe infection.  typically while infected, patients dont reject

is there need for drainage of a collection? Would also check CMV-PCR
