Congratulations, that is wonderful news!!!!! :)
I use it and it has definitely helped me in my career. I started a new job last month and the references and info on linked on encouraged them to hire me without even meeting me! The networking is good and there are many groups you can join that can be valuable.
Thank You All for your Responses, I greatly appreciate the information!!!! :) :) :)
Have a Wonderful Weekend!!!!! :)
Swampy uses linkedin.
Profiles are free but require giving a fair amount of detailed information about yourself. Some people aren't comfortable putting that level of detail on line.
Note that not everyone can see your profile on linkedin, though. That means that in order to see your information the person must have a relationship with you or with someone you know.
If you work in a profession that hires people based on previous personal relationships, and enough people in your profession use linkedin, then it is a good way to find jobs.
Swampy typically gets a job inquiry every 2-4 weeks via that site.
I've heard of it and actually was looking around it the other day. If you join, just keep in mind that anything you put out there is very public. I think it's a reputable site, but again -- it's very public, so if there's anything you don't want your current employer to know, don't put it on there or out there are my thoughts on it. Lately, it's gaining popularity .. my husband was invited to join, so that's what led me there. I easily found 6 people I know just by putting in the search box their real names.
C~
I have never heard of it, sorry! Im kind of a nerd when it comes to computers anyway. Let me know what you find out if anything.
Is it a good site to find potential employers/jobs?
