BRAND NAME LOYALTY

I heard this topic on an am talk show thought it was interesting, People are very attached to name brands of certain products,


My examples are

1, Only Jiff Peanut Butter nothing else will do
2. Tide Laundry soap smells so good, and cleans close the best



so what are your favorite brand loyalities ?

haha thats like me with Ford cars... and I buy USA now no China stuff and thats more difficult now ...

1 Kraft vegemite/Peanut Butter
2 Nestle lollies
3 Daily Juice OJ
4 Masterfoods BBQ sauce...it tastes so much better than any other brand!
5 And a strange one - Im a musician and I will not play an instrument if its not manufactured by Yamaha!!

I must say, as a marketing student this is very interesting what brands different people are loyal towards!!

Bounty paper towels in "select a size," so I don't waste a big towel where a half will do -- that might be "feature loyalty," though, since if other manufacturers offered it I might switch
Scott toilet tissue, no other
A lot of 3-M products, like their blue painter's tape, and Scotch tape

Surprisingly, not any clothing items at all, not large appliances, not even cars (though twice I have bought a make of car after having the same kind of car previously)
Not cellphones or service, not even computers (just switched from Gateway to Apple but am not over the moon about it)

I am to some extent reassured in the way Swampy mentioned by brands when the brand in question is a store, like Target, Sears, Fred Meyer (here on the West Coast), and Home Depot.  What you know is what you get, there.  I can shop in a strange town and know what will be in the place.

I'm brand loyal to giving my family's excess stuff to the Salvation Army and the Goodwill, but nobody else.  That is so weird!  lol

Brand loyalty is very strong when buying kitchen appliances!

Hmmm... I'm really not brand loyal AT ALL; I can't think of one thing!  
The only thing I can think of is that I *must* have "good" toilet paper, LOL, no generic/cheap stuff, but I don't care if it's Charmin, Cottonelle, etc.  Oh yeah, and VIVA towels are *amazing*, but i'll only get them if on sale/ have a coupon.  
What can I say, I guess i'm cheap. :0)

yup add Reeces peanut cups to mine , I heard on a movie the other day that you can get a jelly doughnut, take some jelly out and stuff a peanut butter cup in,in bits I guess,  then give it a few secs in the michro wave......only to be done on stressful moments/days when you have a few spare calories ...I also like Viva kitchen roll. most goods in my area have shot up in price ...

Recently, Swampy has been reading a book on economics, and it mentioned that brand loyalty is something that permits us to do business with strangers or in unfamiliar areas.

A great example is a McDonalds as a freeway interchange. You might have never been to that interchange before but you know where you can get predictable food. The best food? Probably not, and you could wander around looking for the best place but chances are you'll stick with the place that you know.

We're also Jiffy eaters

Kraft mac n cheese (I LOVE LOVE LOVE the powder stuff!!!!! lol)

Sometimes the generic just isn't as good as the brand name no matter what everyone says.
