That is a hard question, LOL. ;) I love all kinds of animals and it is hard for me to just pick one of them. I had to pick dog since they, in my opinion, keep you the most company and help cheer you up when you are down. :)
I really like Turtles, Birds, Frogs and that as well. ;)
yup me too and horses , birds, lizards (wild ones) nothing in a cage .
Love all animals, but dogs, German Shepards in paticular are the best
I would have put dog but since they always have a good chance of messing up the carpet with their "accidents" i put cat cus they are still cuddly and will use the litter box!! Too bad im allergic to them!! *sigh*
Please don't tell my furry cat gals I voted for a dog(LOL)......However they can be expensive and you can't leave then alone for a weekend......that was a difficult question...its all about love anyway...animals are fantastic!!
I do agree that animals are fantastic! I love hiking and looking for wildlife, it is so peaceful and relaxing.
Oh, and I won't tell your furry cat gals that you voted for a dog instead, LOL. ;0)
You just haven't met the right cat. I adopted a kitten from a couple of kids outside our local wally-world. He is paper trained. OMG what a mess. He tries to cover up what ever little gifts he has for me. Solids are no problem but liquid is another story. Since news paper isn't very absorbent you can imagine the mess he can make just trying to "cover up". I've tried a litter box and even the litter bow w/ news paper in it. He just looks at me as if to say "What ARE you doing with that box of dirt inside?"
I'm afraid my cat makes bigger messes with his 'on purposes' than the little dog could ever make.
a horse, cause they are elegant and beautiful and I love to ride them. hey its a freebie right? may as well go for it !
Id be a dog as they are so smart and offer unconditional love and always make you feel better
Cat --- loving and low maintenance :)
dog-- they are fun to play with and aren't as hard to clean up after as cats. Sorry but I have 5 cats and one of them won't use the litter boxes. Two of them go outside to potty so I like them but the other three refuse to go outside.
I'm cheating - I picked two, cats and dogs because we have both and I could never choose between them. Our cats and dogs give unconditional love and comfort and ask for so little from us. Watching them play distracts me from having negative thoughts. Humans could learn a lot from animals.
Bird--if tamed well enough, it can go literally almost everywhere with you on your shoulder. I've seen people grocery shopping in Wal-Mart with a parrot on their shoulder.
They are intelligent and can learn just as much, if not more, than any other pet, not to mention the fact that most can be taught to speak and make sound effects. Some parrots are known to have the IQ level of a 4 year old child. Many parrots can even be potty trained.
They are able to eat most of what people eat, so oftentimes you can share parts of your meals with them (veggies, fruits, grains, and eggs).
Parrots are generally expensive up front, but if cared for properly, require very little vet care; they don't need yearly vaccinations required by law, for example. Their food is generally pretty affordable, moreso than dog or cat food, and especially less if you share your fresh foods with them.
The more entertained and bonded they are with their owner and the less time they spend locked in a cage, they sometimes don't require as much budget contribution towards toys and other forms of entertainment.
I'm partial to birds and own six of them (a Senegal, a cockatiel, two Gouldian finches, and two diamond doves). I also have two dogs, two guppy fish, and a cat. I live in a somewhat noisy home. :-)
Good Point!! I forgot about all the other messes they do make with mice and hairballs yuck!! I Guess this is why i dont have one plus my allergies and the fact my MIL owns my house she said ruin the carpet with an animal and i ll throw you out!! And since she paid for the house and the carpet i can't argue!! But either way theres still my allergies i cant be around them 24-7 i sneeze and itch like crazy!
I love all of them but my little shi tzu has my heart! A cat tho would definately be easier.
I love my dog and ..........have you ever tried to give a cat a bath? We had one that fell into a bucket of used oil. He was trying to help my husband I guess.
I have had all sorts of animals throughout my life. Cats seem to be the main ones. I get on well with all animals. I had to put my dear old feral cat down the other day. It was really difficult to do as I am way over here in USA and my cat got sick back home in Australia. I didn't even get to say goodbye. I still have 2 other cats and a dog though.
I'm very sorry to hear about your kitty-cat. :0(
I love dogs...my favorite are Chihuahuas....Me and my husband joke all the time about have a Chihauhua farm.
I didnt vote as i have a dog and cat and they are both the best.
Thank You all for you responses, I value your opinions! :0)
i did vote but my best response would be just to have a pet that is loyal and faithful! I hate being so lonely and having a companion might make it easier! i have even considered a chinchilla just to have a lil guy to take care of but yet he will be in his cage and not a make a mess at least whatever i will clean it! Any1 know do they make good pets? they really are cute!
I have always found animals to be the best, they give evrything and mostly only want you to take care and love them, thats my experience anyway nothing angers me more than the abuse of animals, next to the abuse of children and the elderly.
