The Cruise

I just got back from my cruise. It was carnival and the ships name was sensation.  I went to bed early and about an hour into the new year, I woke up to the words of the captain being piped into the rooms, Bravo, Bravo portside. I and my sister jumped out of bed grabbed our robes and took off to find out what was going on. One of the crew members had gone overboard. The coastgard came and they put boats out, the whole nine yards. We spent 6 hours trying to find him and then had to continue the voyage. They never found him.  He was the lead singer/dancer to one of the floor shows on the boat.  What a year this is going to be. Wow! I hope you all had a better night.

I have heard of this before I wondered if some folks committed suicide, I hope not, or that their "loved "one chucked them over, it seems to happen a lot, but what a start to the New Year, Teko,

I think we will never know the real truth. The cruise line would be in big doo doo if anything else comes out.

Being drunk must not have helped him... He must have been doing more than posing. He must had been sitting on the rail...eek...  I don't want to end up drunk on a cruise ship if that's what can happen...scary stuff...

Still something doesn't make sense... Think it could have been a murder?

The crew had their own new years eve party and this fellow was standing up on the rail posing for a pic and between him being drunk, and the stong wind and seas, he lost his balance from the tenth floor, he fell 80 something feet. They never found him as far as I know. His mother was on the boat too and needless to say hysterical.  I had a ball up till that point and actually took in a few of his shows. He was great!  I do not see how anyone can fall off a ship cause the rails came up to my chest. They either have to be doing something stupid or jump or get pushed off.  I think it will be a long time before I want to go again tho. So Sad! I think he might have been mid to late 20's. Very young.

Wow........i heard about that but had no clue that was the cruise you were on.........

I heard this on the news too. That was your cruise ship? Wow... How did he end up going overboard?  Was it suicide or was he pushed over?  I guess it will take a while before they can find out what happened.

You know, it's weird, I've heard over and over how people have disappeared or gone overboard on cruise boats. Carnival, I know, has been in the news before.
I've always wanted to go on a cruise but now I'm not so sure!

I read about that...How horrible... What are the chances...I hope you did enjoy yourself before that...
