Saw the first snow flurries in N.Y.C. yesterday. I always look forward to the first snowfall as long as its not a blizzard but since the kids get time off school in my neighborhood they look forward to heavy snowfall as I always did as a kid.
I don't want to see any snow where I live until christmas eve :P Seriously, I do not envy any of you with the early snow, I hate when it snows here, they are so laxed on clearing the roads, its a big mess.
I love visiting places for a SHORT period of time that have snow.... but i live in AZ so its hotter than heck out here and i just couldnt see living somewhere cold enough to snow.... it sure is beautiful tho.....
I'm just outside of Detroit and I love the snow, can't wait for it. I feel if it's cold, might as well have snow to go with it! I'm anxious for my 17 month old daughter to see it and play in it this year. I think it's also my two dogs favorite time of year. Can't stand the shoveling though!
Thats good glad to hear that you have become a softy!! I find that is better than a macho man:-) and it takes a man to admit it!!!
dont hunt anymore dont have the heart to kill anything anymore but i love venision
PS dont kill the little bambies boo hoo :(
Jollyman!! hey fella I have never seen snow only on tv! Dont think i could handle it though,i hate anything below 25c =80degrees so i guess i would seize up.Buy a pair of heated battery operated socks they are wonderful!!
Loved the snow when I lived in Pa. Now living in Tn. The first sign of snow everything shuts down. Flurries school is canceled...I remember in Pa going to school in a ft. of snow.
Brought up in the Snow ,adore it ....from sunny California, No seriously my childhood was spent toboggoning and ice skating and skiing I adored it all, went back 3 years ago for Xmas and it snowed Xmas Eve.Was greattttt
Well, jollyman, I'm glad you're giving feedback. I've always wanted to touch the white thingie, but I live in Fl, so no chances. I'll be on vacation in November, and I was thinking maybe a cold place just to see and touch the snow; but you aren't the only one who hates it. Some people even get depressed when it snows. They say sunshine is better, so I don't know if visiting a cold place is a good idea after all. Still, I'd love to feel it in my hands, so I kindda envy you a little bit :)
I live in Canada, an hour southwest of Toronto. We are getting less snow now than when I was growing up in Windsor (by Detroit). I do live in the snowbelt. Snow comes across lake Huron and then hits us. I have a love/hate relationship with it. I would never like to live where I didn't have snow but it can be highly inconvenient and dangerous. I do love the beauty and when the sun or moon makes it twinkle and to see it on the tree branches. There is nothing like getting out there in a wet snow and making snow angels and snowmen. I don't have young kids anymore but still love to do that. My golden retreiver is a winter puppy and the glee on her when she bounds through the snow just melts my heart.
i ment to type 120 miles west of baltimore.. i can think faster then i can type..
I'm jealous. Not of the snow, but where you live. I've motorbiked through Maryland forests and it's some of the most beautiful country around. Made me wish I can settle there someday.
At least here in NYC we don't really get snowfall anymore. After the first few hours its not only cold and inconvenient, its also ugly as well (smog colored snow, ugh). :-(
