Well I cant afford the slate either, lol I do like the look though.
I got a pile of crushed rock ,gravel as I called it it was free on Craigslist if you went to pick it up..used it to make some path ways.,I like it better than wood chips ..
Slate would be beautiful but it is quite pricey here. Sadly I have champaign tastes on a beer salary. lol
No such luck I'm still at it. 8 flowerbeds down and 6 more to go. I think I need to invest in a large quantity of crushed gravel to use as mulch-it drains better than wood chips etc. I'm hoping to figure out how to use some of my wine bottles this week-end.
Some of my neighbors use slate. It looks quite nice. I use round rocks I have gathered from the coast.
Did you get the border done k9 was he able to trail some rocks down for you, we could use a few more rocks looks like we will be out scavenging in the hills...
MY husband and his trailer may be busy this week-end. hee,hee
Yes thats a good idea , I am in the foothills so I had a ton of rocks in the garden but we went out scavenging and got some big rocks ..watch your back when lifting them ...
maybe I'll see what I can scavage from the fields around here. I'm always amazed at what garden centers charge for rocks.
what my dh has started to do ,we have many rocks in the garden , he has chosen the ones with a flat top and he puts them round the flower beds and cactus gardens in a border. I think you can buy different stones for s border in the stores .
