It could be changing body odor due to menopause. That is one of the symptoms and I have read that it is independent of hygiene or can be. I have this too and I use "clinical strength" Secret. Works wonderfully.
Underarm odor is not dangerous, of course, it's just annoying. But if you're really concerned with making it go away, there are over-the-counter remedies that boast of being prescription strength - the one I thought of immediately is Secret's formulation. Good luck!
What's the relation with menopause, do you think it is *because* of menopause?
If I eat something with garlic or onions, it comes right out in my sweat, especially on the upper, inside legs. Since it seems so directly related to food, I have taken to swabbing the area with a cotton ball at the times when I've been eating something pervasive, using the old-fashioned Listerine (the stinky kind) and then rinsing it off with water. Something about the formulation (made for use in the mouth, of course) seems to cut that sort of oily sweat that comes from highly aromatic food. You might try it on your underarms. Just rinse it off afterward of your armpits will smell like Listerine, menthol and eucalyptus. lol
