Bleeding after menopause.

My mother has been already been through Menopause for the past 10 years. She had a D and C done 15 years ago to control excessive period bleeding. At that time it was noted her womb walls were extremely thin.

Recently she had what she could only describe as period pains complete with cramping and bleeding (a few drops of blood). She has also begun experiencing full hot flashes complete with facial flushing and sweating.

Mom has high blood pressure, is hypothyroid and takes heart medications. She recently had an ultrasound and sample taken of her womb for examination.

In general, what could cause bleeding plus hot flashes after menopause?

I thank-you for your reply (as does Mom).
