Kegel exercise side-effects, purple veins on penis

I have recently started doing Kegel exercises every day, several times a day.  I have noticed a positive impact on the strength of my erection and my "staying" power, however there is one apparent side-effect that I would like to understand.

That is, several veins have increased in size (i.e. they more clearly stand out from surrounding tissue) and they also appear to be more purple than they were before.

I would like to assume that this is a good sign, i.e. that I have improved the bloodflow to my penis.  However I think I've read somewhere that purple veins represent oxygen-starved blood.  And that certainly doesn't sound good.

Again, the actual performance of my member seems to have improved, so I don't suspect a true problem, but I am anxious to understand exactly what's going on.

Thanks for any comments.

I'm not sure what kegel exercises are but the same thing happened to me with the purple veins...i didnt have any visible ones now i've got loads...it happened after i made my erection harder when i was masterbating by putting pressure around the base of my shaft, generally i get harder erections now but the veins havn't become less visible...i'm open to suggestions, its pretty unsightly
