Moustache shadow

I want to see about my moustache shadow. Not matter how close of a shave there's a shadow and it's odd because it doesn't start directly above my top lip but about a quarter inch above. Pictured here:

I already do this but good article nonetheless. I probably just need to shave more often to keep the shadow as minimal as possible since it looks bad. Still don't know why my mustache starts so high up but maybe that's a common thing I just don't know about.
and I'm worried I may have some ingrown hairs from when I was younger before I knew how to shave but oh well.
