Rough/Dry Sensitive Skin On Penis

Hello,

I am wondering if I should get this checked out -- I am not sure if this is from masturbating too much, or if it is a fungal infection or STD. On the shaft of my penis near my glans, there is a circular patch of skin that is sensitive to the touch (uncomfortable for me to rub my fingers across it) and is rough/dry. It's less noticeable while I am flaccid, but is very apparent when my penis is erect. As ridiculously as this sounds, I am too embarassed to go to my GP and ask, so I'm posting anonymously to the whole internet.

It wouldn't let me attach images, so I am using imgur.

Thank you.

So it's not that noticeable, and my guess is that it's dry skin or eczema or something, but you really need to let your doctor see it. No one can diagnose you from a pic online.

You don't mention anything about risk factors for STDs, but if you are concerned about those, you need to test.

Your doctor has seen far "worse" things than some dry patches on a penis, I promise.

If you are sexually active, and haven't ever tested for STDs, now is a good time, right?

Don't try to treat this yourself. If you use the wrong thing, you could make it a lot worse. Just go get it checked out. You can do this. :)
