Vitamin C intake instructions...

Hi,

Can you clarify the instructions of this vitamin C. It says:

"One serving 1 g contains Vitamin C – 1 000mg
Serving per container: 90.

Recommended use

Pour 1 serving (1 spoon) into a dry glass."

1 spoon contains much more than 1 gram. So how much should I take 1 spoon, or 1 gram?

Thanks

Are you sure it says one spoonful, or does it say one scoop?  Powders usually come with a small scoop in the jar that is 1g or 1000mg.  As far as the gram, that's 1000mg.  There's not reason for you to take that much at one time, that's your choice.  You don't need that much unless you have some specific need for it.  If you do want to take that much in a day, it's better to take half twice a day, as Vitamin C is water soluble and you will evacuate it.  It is best used in a buffered form with bioflavanoids for best antioxidant performance.  It is best absorbed take with food, which provides a natural buffer.  It is very acidic, so taking it with food or buffering it helps.  You don't say ow much you intend to take in a day, so these are just suggestions, but again, powders usually come with a scoop and that's your measurement.  If it didn't, what size spoon are you using?  What size does it suggest?  That should answer your question.

I got that text from their website. By "spoon" they meant a measuring spoon specifically for usage with this product. In other words a scoop just like you say.
Thanks!
Also, if I want to take less than 1gram per day, like e.g. 850 mg, is there a correct way to do this? Do I need a measuring device or something more accurate than a scoop?

Thanks
You could use a measuring device if you want to, but it's not that important to be so exact.  As I advised, the best thing if you want 1000mg a day is to take 500mg twice a day, but again, it's your decision, there are lots of opinions about how much C to take.  If you want to take less, just don't fill up the scoop.  If you want 3/4 of the amount, estimate 3/4 of the scoop.  Don't sweat it, it doesn't matter that much.
