I'm in the exact same boat as you ! I'm 18 and in university.
My headaches started around the same time as you, maybe a bit earlier. I usually wake up with a headache and go to bed with one (pain is usually around 7-8 on a scale of 10, and get worsen when I study). I take Aleve (advils don't work for me) to relieve the pain, but it always comes back. It usually starts with pain\pressure around my eyes and forehead, then everywhere. If I don't take anything for the pain, it usually goes chaotic after that : I get really dizzy (only way to stop it is lie down and close my eyes, even then I still feel dizzy), nauseated, I can barely open my eyes because of the pressure, have trouble speaking, concentrating, etc. I haven't been to a doctor though, so if you find anything out, please let me know.
Hi!
I was wondering if any of the possible diagnosis would have shown up on the CT scan...There are no triggers, and the headache never goes away. I wake up with the same one I fell asleep with. Like I said my family practics doctor is at a lost and so am I since all the neuology doctors in my area are booked with a wait list...so it will be a few months before I get in to one unless something happens. So any further suggestions for my family doctor or I would be helpful to both of us.
Do this pranayam now and daily for 30 minutes, twice a day. The extra oxygen going into the left and right brain will help you.Let me know how you feel after 9 days.Do not give up before 4 months, to feel the benefit of pranayam.
Build up your timing gradually. If you feel tired or dizzy, stop and resume after one minute.
Anulom Vilom pranayam –
Close your right nostril with thumb and deep breath-in through left nostril
then – close left nostril with two fingers and breath-out through right nostril
then -keeping the left nostril closed deep breath-in through right nostril
then - close your right nostril with thumb and breath-out through left nostril.
This is one cycle of anulom vilom.
Repeat this cycle for 15 to 30 minutes twice a day.
Children under 15 years – do 5 to 10 minutes twice a day.
You can do this before breakfast/lunch/dinner or before bedtime or in bed.Remember to take deep long breaths into the lungs. You can do this while sitting on floor or chair or lying in bed.
Hi,
How are you? Chronic daily headache can be grouped to headaches lasting more than 4 hours and headaches lasting less than 4 hours. If the attacks last more than four hours, according to the National Headache Foundation, may be attributed to chronic migraine or transformed migraine; chronic tension type headache; new daily persistent headache or hemicrania continua. Medication overuse are often linked to these headaches. Also, headache with numbness can be associated with hemiplegic migraines. Check with your neurologist for proper evaluation. Avoidance of triggers, rest and prescription medications may be helpful. Take care and best regards.
Normal CT scan and imaging studies may mean this is due to primary headaches such as migraine, cluster or tension headaches. Imaging studies help rule out anatomical issues in the brain. Although Magnetic Resonance Angiography or MRA have been helpful in plenty of headache sufferers also to rule out issues with the blood vessels. Aside from medications, you can also try complementary and alternative medicine such as biofeedback therapy and other relaxation techniques. Discuss this with your doctor and see the best management plan for your case. Take care always.
